Once again, this season’s football was hindered by every
sort of weather condition that could be thrown at us,
including heavy snow, ice, rain and even volcanic dust,
causing a great deal of disruption and resulting in matches
repeatedly having to be rearranged and played back to back
towards the end of the season.
Despite all this, there was some great action to be enjoyed.
The U14’s, coached by Mark Bailey, had a fantastic
season, earning themselves a well deserved promotion to the B league after winning 16 out of 19 games, coming runners up to the top of the C league position to rivals Roffey Robins Athletic.
Clive Pyzer’s U13’s, managed to retain their A league status, with at times a depleted team due to injury and illness, ending the season with a respectable mid league position.
Paul Rogers and Paul Dollner U12’s squad enjoyed a thrilling first league season in their B league division, winning 11 out of 16 games, as well as coming runners up in the Plate finals at Broadbridge Heath.
Unfortunately their chance of promotion to the top division was thwarted by Greenway by only 2 points.
The U11’s led by coach, Paul Daymond, had a difficult first league season. Being placed in the top division from the onset was never going to be easy, but the brave lions battled on courageously and showed tremendous team spirit and were rewarded with a wonderful concluding league match win against Chesworth Rovers.
Our two mini-soccer league teams coached by Craig Robinson U10’s and Luke Aldrich U9’s enjoyed some great matches over the past few months.
The U10’s had a terrific season, winning the majority of their games, putting them in good stead for their big step to 11aside football.
The U9’s also played tremendously well with their many winning results as proof of their abilities.
Please see below how our four 11aside league teams fared in the Horsham and District Youth Football league this season.
Although the Horsham District League season is now over, children from various age groups within our club are partaking in various football tournaments around the county. So let’s hope the sun shines for those and everyone has a good time!

Awards Day and Fun Day - Saturday June 12th 2010
commencing at 11am with the club’s A.G.M

...to a winning team made up of Lions who were involved in St Andrews (Nuthurst) Primary School winning the inter school 5 a side tournament at Broadbridge Heath. They were Finn Aldrich, Adam, Ellie, Marcus ,Ben and Reuben.

A reminder to all parents. If you wish to register your child for next season, please print off the attached form and fill in and return with your payment, either to your coach or send directly to the registration secretary – Gill Woodlock. The address is on the form. We would really appreciate it if you could endeavour to get the forms returned as soon as possible please, in order to help us with the time consuming registration process. Forms can also be printed off from the website. If anyone has difficulty in paying, please contact our registration secretary, Gill Woodlock.

Craig Robinson is very pleased to announce that Alex Gibbs will be coaching the U11’s with
him from September. He is an excellent footballer and has had sports coaching experience and we welcome him aboard.
MINI- SOCCER HELP!
We have a shortage of coaching help for the younger age groups.
If anyone fancies starting up an Under 9’s team, we would love to hear from you.
Also, Phil Keen is asking for help with his U8’s and as yet we have no-one to take on our U7’s and younger. We can provide you with free coaching training. Please contact our club secretary
