COMMITTEE MATTERS
A recent well attended committee meeting noted many key points.
Firstly, the future is looking bright for the club! All our mini soccer age groups are filled, hopefully keeping the club going forward well into the next five to ten years.
Due to an increase in players and extra managers, we were able to create a separate U9/U10's squad at the beginning of this season.
As from next season, Phil Keen will be running Saturday training sessions for the youngest age groups U7/6's. If you have a child that is interested in playing friendly mini-soccer next season and will fall under that age group, please get in touch with Phil Keen - phil.Keen@amec.com
Tel: 01403 891377 / Mobile: 07736168785
Luke Aldrich, who is currently assisting Craig Robinson, has kindly agreed to manage next season's U8's. As you might be aware, the club is keen to follow the good practice guidelines set up by the FA. Our Child Safety Officer, Helen Ordever, ensures that all committee members and coaches are CRB checked, that coaches attend coaching courses and committee members and coaches are encouraged to take first-aid courses.
Please visit our website to see how all OUR teams are doing.
Our age groups are U8/7's U9's U10's U11's U12's and U15's
COMMITTEE VACANCY Purchasing
The committee have created a new role within the club in order to help co-ordinate spending. At present, it is disorganised and we need your help to make purchasing more organised. Especially with regards to club kit. If you are interested, please contact our club secretary James Woodlock jwoodlock@btinternet.com
Tel: 01293 852166 for an informal chat of what is involved.
SECRETARY'S REPORT
Prompted by new safety guidelines issued by the FA, a general inspection of club equipment has been undertaken. The conclusion being that much of what we have is reaching the end of its useful life!
The committee recognises that we need to address this situation and replacement needs to be factored into current spending plans. The possibility of obtaining additional funds from the Parish Council and Football Foundation are being pursued.
U11's News
Well Done to Adam Ruz, from Clive Pyzer's U11's squad. Adam has been selected to join the Horsham & District League U11's Representative squad.
DIARY DATES
Beat the winter blues and join us for the club's annual Dinner and Dance. This will now take place in the New Year. Details to be announced soon.
Saturday 28 th June 2008 Lower Beeding Lions Annual Awards Day @ The Holbrook Club, Horsham.
Thank you to Andy Eggleden for helping to organise these events.
Second Hand Boot Sale
We would like to resurrect a 'boot locker' for the Lions football club. The idea is that once the players have outgrown their football boots or trainers, and if they have no siblings to pass them on to then the family 'donates' the boots to the club. Once a month at the LBA village hall after football matches we will set up a table with all the boots on so you can see if there is a pair that your growing player might need - for a small donation of say £2. This will help soften the cost of kitting your player out, especially when they are growing really quickly and will raise a little bit of money for the club too. For anybody wishing to donate their old boots could you please make sure they are reasonably clean!

BEDFORD SPORTS
HORSHAM & DISTRICT YOUTH FOOTBALL LEAGUE
League Bulletin - November 2007 (3)
It has come to the attention of the Disciplinary Committee that there has been an increase in incidents of verbal abuse by Managers and spectators towards referees and opposition officials and, in some cases players.
The Disciplinary Committee would ask all Clubs to look at their Codes of Conduct and ask that their Teams are reminded of these. Additional Guidance Notes regarding adult behaviour will be issued to all Clubs shortly.
Such incidents of poor behaviour will not be tolerated by the League, may result in the suspension of Teams and/or Clubs, and may warrant referral to the Sussex County Football Association.
Just to remind all members to please read the following and ensure that you are aware of the Lower Beeding Lions Code of Conduct and Discipline rules. We do not tolerate bad behaviour within our club.
