 U15’s
With recent coverage of misbehaviour in football, both on and off the pitch, it was heart warming to receive a glowing report from Frank Haw, who was the referee at a recent U15’s Copthorne match.  He personally rang to complement the Lions team, supporters and management for the conduct and spirit with which the game was played. He added that he thought the Lions lost the first half but won the second!!
Whilst a win would have been great, it is great to receive positive feedback like this and shows that it is possible to play with controlled aggression, whilst still playing within the rules and spirit of the game.
Congratulations also to those parents who participated in their own right by cheering the lads on throughout the game and providing positive encouragement. The team, coaching and parents are a credit to our club.

NUTHURST NEWS
Well done to a selection of Lions members who combined forces recently and competed for their Primary School, St. Andrews, Nuthurst in a 7 a side friendly against Wisborough Green.
Despite slippery conditions underfoot, the Lions of Nuthurst roared to victory with a convincing 4-2 win, with two goals apiece from Declan Norgate and Aaron Pyzer. Well done to all those that took part and thank you to Craig Robinson, our Lower Beeding Lions U8’s coach, who also coaches the St. Andrews school team and organised this event, and also to Luke Aldrich the Lions U7’s coach who did a great job as referee.

TROPHIES PLEASE
As the season is coming to a close, can I remind all those that were awarded trophies last year, to please return them to your coaches as soon as possible PLEASE. If you wish for them to be engraved with your child’s name on it can you please get them done a.s.a.p. They can be engraved at Premier Sports or Bedford Sports in Horsham.  If you keep your receipt, the club will reimburse you.  This year we are asking for the trophies back early,  so that they can all be brought up to date and get this year’s winners engraved on them ready for the awards day in June.
