The New Year did not start well for the junior
football season, with wintry weather causing
havoc, once again, with snow, rain and ice
relentlessly cancelling match after match, with
some of our teams unable to play since before
Christmas.
Not only has this been disappointing for players, parents and coaches alike, but it has meant that fixtures have had to be rearranged, which has been a logistical nightmare.
A belated thank you to Roy Wicking who has taken on the arduous  role of co-ordinating fixtures!
As the weather can obviously not be accurately predicted, fixtures are often having to be changed, and games have had to be called off at the last minute.
Lower Beeding Lions re-arranged fixtures have now been
added directly to the Lions website. Either click on your relevant age group tab on the left hand bar e.g. Under 9’s or click on the Fixtures tab which will take you to the Horsham and District Football League site, where you can access all fixtures, results etc. for all of the youth teams in the Horsham District League.

Let’s hope the weather starts to improve and the children can all start playing football again!

LOWER BEEDING LIONS NEEDS YOUR HELP!!
Is there anyone out there that would be interested in joining the committee? After three years, as Registration Secretary, Gill Woodlock has decided to step down and we need a willing volunteer to fill her shoes.
She has been a great asset to the club and has done a terrific job in ensuring the registration process runs smoothly.
The role of Registration Secretary involves registering teams and players with the club and league, dealing with subscriptions and attending committee meetings. Gill ensures us that it is not as time consuming as it sounds and it is a good way of gaining new skills and meeting people.
